Journal of Language and Communication (JLC) is the official journal of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) published by UPM Press and is managed by the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, UPM. It is an open-access online journal which is free of charge. It covers the discipline(s) or sub-discipline(s) of Arts and Humanities (Languages & Linguistics) and Social Sciences (Media & Communication). This journal is indexed in MyCite, MyJurnal and Google Scholar. It is published biannually, in March and September.

Asian Journal of Applied Communication (AJAC) previously (known as Global Media Journal (GMJ) was the official publication of the Global Network of Communication Scholars. AJAC is managed by the Department of Communication, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, Universiti Putra Malaysia. It is an open-access online journal that is free of charge. It publishes the discipline(s) or sub-discipline(s) of Strategic Communication, Corporate Communication, Organizational Communication, Communication Technology, Journalism, Broadcasting, Advertising, and Related Fields. It is published biannually, in June and December.

In 2013, a new series in Pertanika was established, namely MAHAWANGSA (Journal of Malay Language, Culture, and Heritage). This journal series focuses specifically on the areas of the Malay Language, Literature, Culture, and Heritage. Pertanika MAHAWANGSA is published in the Malay language, twice a year, in June and November, and is open to authors from around the world.
